thursday’s thought

mindy project

Happy Thursday blushers! The Mindy Project is absolutely one of my favourite show on tv these days because not only is it brilliantly written, but dear god how great is Danny Castellano? Am I right?!

This line from Mindy is pure perfection because who doesn’t want to channel an inner kick-ass warrior?! I also love the confidence she exudes in her body; when she’s on screen I focus on how gorgeous her hair looks, the great makeup application and how she makes me laugh. See ladies? It’s not how thin your thighs are that attract a person’s eye, but it’s your gorgeous smile, the sparkle in your eye and just how truly awesome you are as a person.

If you haven’t watched this show you need to get on it! I promise you’re going to love it.

  • Words of wisdom! What’s not to love about Mindy Kaling, loved reading
her book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me. Plus, she gets her makeup
done by green makeup artist Katey Denno 😉
    ps. my heart belongs to
Jax Teller of SOA (sad it’s the last season!) but gosh Danny
Castellano’s dancing skills…I’ve been hitting the replay button too
    often lol.

  • Mindy Kaling is hilarious, witty, and confident-but aren’t all great women? I was reading a quote about women empowerment and intelligence from her that went like this: “I love women who are bosses and who don’t constantly worry about what their employees think of them. I love women who don’t ask, “Is that OK?” after everything they say. I love when women are courageous in the face of unthinkable circumstances, like my mother when she was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. Or like Gabrielle Giffords writing editorials for the New York Times about the cowardice of Congress regarding gun laws and using phrases like “mark my words” like she is Clint Eastwood. How many women say stuff like that?”

    • So true my friend! I love the powerful force women can be on this world when they’re not hemmed in by stereotypes or feel they need to apologize for their ambition. Rwanda is the only country in the world to have a female majority in government and they are making unprecedented strides in the fight to end genocides that their male counterparts failed to achieve. Here’s a great speech from Sheryl Sandberg on why there are so few women leaders that I think you’ll find interesting:

  • I love your use of gifs in every post, and even more so since I’ve started watching The Mindy Project! Caught up on the season premiere last night — very excited for the new episodes to come.

    • omg were you not losing your mind over the last scene with Danny Castellano?! I literally had to watch it like 3 times.

      • I squealed a bit and then covered my eyes!! Hahaha for that scene and the one where she says he gets turned on by the weirdest music.
My favourite Danny is the red-glasses-wearing Danny though. 😉

        • Don’t even get me started on Danny and his red glasses…. Also, how funny was it when Mindy quickly puts on her glasses to watch him dance? I have such a mad crush on him and I now have to re-watch the dance he did for her at xmas 😀
