thursday’s thought

life in blush thursdays thought june 19 2014Each week, when I post my Thursday’s thought, I try to make it reflect what’s going on in my life or how I’m feeling at that moment so that I can share more of me with you. Yesterday, when I saw this quote it spoke to me so loudly that I had to stop for a moment and figure out why.

Upon reflection I realized there’s a part of me, like a bird within a tight cage that sees the ocean and can’t fly to it, that wants to reject the people and situations that won’t fill my spirit with positive energy and intention, but that hasn’t been given the voice to do so. I grew up by the ocean so it’s no surprise that the lines “she was born out of ocean breath” and “you do not bring the ocean to a river” struck such a deep chord with me, but it reinforced my belief that people, situations, objects and words come in to your life when you need them the most.

This quote served as a reminder to me to live a life where my feminine spirit is unchained; to go on more adventures, to be around good energy and people, to learn new things, and above all else give myself permission to let the bird out of its cage.

Happy Thursday blushers! I wish all of you a day filled with much love, support and sparkle! xo

A truly beautiful quote that speaks to all women who need and want to be free of the cage of self limitation. In the end we are the captains of our own destiny and that ocean of discovery is so vast and inviting!

    • ‘captains of our own destiny’ – love that! 🙂 xo

This quote is beautiful and I love that it reminds us to grow large, not thin out. It reminds me of a spoken I heard where a young woman talked about how the women in her family shrink in and the men bulge out and she thought ‘why?’. You should defintely check out Elle Griffin at http://ellegriffin.com/. Her whole mission is to nurture the divine feminine in women and actually just released an online publication called Over the moon(http://overthemoonmag.com/) I think you’d enjoy it.

    • Hi Sue! thanks so much for pointing me in the direction of Elle and over the moon! I took a quick peek and I already know that I want to set aside time to fully dive into her articles. I think it’s so important to protect and nourish our female yin energy and I love how much support is out there, both in offline and online sisterhood communities. Have a wonderful day! xo
