thursday’s thought

turn your rough patch into a flower garden

I was chatting with a blusher over email last week about how hard life is sometimes and she said in passing that she hoped my “rough patch was turning into a flower garden”  – god what a brilliant life quote! I immediately got a visual of a barren, muddy patch of soil suddenly blossoming into roses, peonies, hydrangeas, tulips and all of the flowers I love so dearly.

Life is not a Disney movie and will always give you a rough patch here and there to remind you nothing is certain. That uncertainty is actually what makes our lives so memorable because it forces us to go after the things and experiences that make us happiest.

Tell me blushers, what flowers would you plant in your own rough-patch-turned-flower-garden? Join me in this visual journey!

I’d plant the entire patch with many different colors of carnations….they seem to last forever!

    What a well-written post, Sonja! 🙂 I’d plant:
    *white, yellow & purple tulips
    *white garden roses
    *peonies in every colour
    *white and coral zinnias.
I’d like to plant this garden in the summer 🙂
