thursday’s thought

those who don't believe in magic will never find it / roald dahl

Hi everyone! I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly counting down the hours until the weekend is here. Work has been particularly busy and each day I’ve been trapped under the fluorescent lights, itching to get outside, I found myself wishing I was a kid again – where my only worry was what marbles to trade at recess (you know you’re a kid from the 80’s when….) or when I’d be able to dive into the next batch of my mum’s cookies.

Which brings me to this quote. Roald Dahl was one of my favourite childhood authors and I would spend hours getting lost in his fantastical stories. I believed so much in those magical stories that I think a part of it carried over with me as I grew up! (just ask anyone who knows me how much of a kid I become at Christmas).

To me, this quote represents believing in magic is believing in myself. And if I can do that then I can find fulfillment in my world and discover the beautiful things it has to offer – often hidden in the most unlikely places.
