spring makeup

spring makeup

Spring makeup is all about punching up colour and that’s definitely something my pale skin can get on board with. Bold brows, bright lips and blue eye shadow are spring’s top three makeup must haves, but apart from rocking a ‘Brooke Shields’ brow try to focus on one feature at a time – either the bright lip or blue eye shadow, but not together. It’s one of my beauty mantra’s, but you should experiment with whatever makes you feel the prettiest.

Now, I’ve never been scared to wear bright lipsticks since it brightens up my face, but blue eye shadow is another story. Ever fearful of looking like Barbie I’ve made it a point to steer clear of blue – until now. Green beauty cosmetic lines have come out with some pretty stunning shades of blue that I find it hard to keep ignoring. My top picks for ‘non-Barbie blue’ are DeVita Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Lapis Blue, Jane Iredale PurePressed Eye Shadow in Blue Hour, Josie Maran Argan Eye Shadow in Bali

What are the new lip colors for spring? Any suggestions?

    • Hot red and hot pink lips are spring’s most popular colours, but coral, and berry colours shouldn’t be forgotten about either. If you’re nervous about bright colours on your lips try a sheer gloss like Revolution Organics in ‘freedom’ or Korres Lip Butter in ‘rose’. If you’re ready to kick it up try Ilia lipstick in ‘neon angel’or ‘arabian knights’, Josie Maran magic marker in ‘flamenco’ or Hourglass opaque rouge liquid lipstick in ‘riviera’. Hope this helps!
