{spotlight} wick witch mood magick soy candle

So, I’m a gal that’s always been pretty big on having candles lit throughout her place at night to give off a gorgeous scent and that warm, fuzzy glow, but I recently discovered paraffin wax based scented candles contribute to indoor air pollution and the toxins released are the same as those found in diesel fuel fumes.

Oh dear lord.

So am I going to be a green beauty girl living with toxic candles?

Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of options on the market for soy or beeswax based candles, but it’s been hard to find one whose scent or packaging I love.

Not one to easily back down from a challenge, I searched and searched and finally came across a company from Merrickville Ontario, just before the holidays, that hand crafts 100% all natural soy wax candles and packages them in cheeky reusable containers.

Sold at The Detox MarketΒ here in Toronto, Wick Witch has a line-up of 10 candles that contain pretty unique scent profiles and names like Bad Witch, Love Spell and Harvest Moon.

I have to admit I was hearting O Tannenbaum pretty hard over the holidays and now that we’re into a new year I’ve got Mood Magick anointing my bedroom with lavender, sage and rosemary.

Next up,Β Ginger Nutmeg!

Have you tried this line of natural candles? Let me know in the comments below which one you’re loving!

  • The brand sounds like a dream, plus I hear you on: can it smell great AND look great AND be all green’n’clean?

And, like Ashtynne here, I used to love NEOM cancles, but right now I was given an amazing natural candle from an Australian brand that I can’t get in my heck of the woods.
Otherwise I use essential oil on cutesy dispenser cubes to design signature room scents throughout the apartment.

    • Oooh what’s the name of that aussie brand? And what’s your current favourite signature room scent?! That’s such a good idea, I need to do that too πŸ™‚ xo

      • I don’t remember and I haven’t kept the paper box :/
As for the scents, always the classics, lavender and orange blossom for the bedroom, rosemary and lavender for the living room, bergamot and mint / or rosemary and bergamot for the study. Sandalwood + lavender for the closet πŸ˜‰

  • NEOM carries my favorite natural candle brand of the moment. I’ve also tried a candle from L:A Bruket that was good, but too pricey for the burn time. I also love me a good plain ole beeswax candle. The names of these candles are perfect!

    • I haven’t heard of either! I’ll have to check them out now, thanks for the tip Ashtynne! xx

  • I’ve been trying to find some more natural candle alternatives and this one sounds lovely. Thanks for sharing!

    • Anytime love! If you end up picking one up let me know which one you get! xo

Oooh, those sounds great. I have a slight candle addiction, mainly beeswax. I might just have to try one of these πŸ™‚

    • Do it! I think you would really, really love them πŸ™‚
