{review} wild honey apothecary pumpkin cocoa honey mask & golden rejuvenation cream

life in blush review of wild honey apothecary

Have you ever found yourself so inexplicably drawn to someone whom you’ve never met or something you’ve never seen? I’ve always believed there’s a type of cosmic force at play with the people that come in to and leave you life (and that no one can really explain) and I found myself experiencing a strong pull of connection when I wandered over to Kat Davis’ Wild Honey Apothecary skincare site and saw the image she had chose to represent her brand. The feeling was as if I had known her all my life.

Head Honey Mixer and founder, Kat Davis, is a gypsy spirited holistic RN who has been studying skin care and herbs for over ten years. Kat creates all the skin loving goodness in the Wild Honey studio, outside Milwaukee Wisconsin, surrounded by big old pine trees.

Apart from my feeling of cosmic connection, I love it when I find a brand that’s SO natural it’s just plain obvious. I mean check out the ingredients on the two products I enthusiastically scooped up:

pumpkin cocoa mask ($22 for 2 oz): wisconsin honey, non gmo expeller pressed grape seed oil, organic aloe, organic pumpkin powder, organic pumpkin seed oil, organic raw cocoa powder and cocoa absolute.

golden rejuvenation cream ($42 for 2 oz): pure shea butter, organic jojoba oil, helichyrsum essential oil (cherished as the ‘fountain of youth’), geranium essential oil, wild harvested frankincense, organic buttermilk and organic hemp seed oil.

Amazing right?!

The mask is chock full of antioxidants and skin-soothing properties that make it perfect for any skin type, and I found myself making it part of my weekly soak-in-a-tub-to-de-stress routine. I do have a confession though – the heat of the steamy bath will typically cause the mask to trickle dangerously close to my lips and at that point I usually take a lick. I mean why not?! Between the honey and cocoa I dare you not to be tempted to take a taste.

Now when it comes to Kat’s rejuvenation cream, well that’s something a little bit special. It comes straight out of the jar feeling like whip cream (guys I’m totally serious on that one) and melts into your skin with this intense richness that anyone with dry skin will lose their mind over because you can feel the essential oils just soaking right in to your skin.

SPECIAL DISCOUNT! Blushers, Kat is offering a special 20% discount on the purchase of any of her products (click here to check out the mask and here for the cream). Just use the code ‘lifeinblush’ at the checkout!

  • Shut up. This post is amazing. First of all, that skin care line looks amazing, but also an Ian Somehalder gif? Are you serious? I am drooling.

These products sound SO tempting!! The ingredient list alone gets a gold star!!

    • I know right?! there’s nothing to question, it’s just pure goodness 🙂

  • Well, the answer to all your questions above is a resounding YES! with a few “oh, I totally know what you mean!” sprinkled in. Kat is a kindred spirit and her products reflect her wholesome, rawsome, energetically-infused nature. (At least, that’s what I gather from being in touch with her over the internet.) I was also drawn to the Honey mud in pumpkin-cocoa and just posted an Instagram picture of me using the last few precious scoops. [Sigh.] It did good things for my face, and lately, not many products do. I used it last time with a facial steam so once again, I totally know what you mean about the penchance for licking it a wee bit (YUM!). The cream sounds like dessert! I’m wanting some badly. Lovely, lovely review. Xo

    • you defined it so perfectly Sarita! “energetically-infused nature” – LOVE! I’m getting giddy over here with excitement that I get to meet you on Sunday!! Here’s the address: Tribeca Grand / 2 Ave of the Americas
