The summer solstice is exactly 19 days away (aaahh!) and while I’m busy planning cute summer outfits I also need to start revamping my morning makeup routine to combat the face sweats that hot summer days will try to give me.
And will I bend to humidity’s will?
Blotting papers and a hand-fan are important options to have at your disposal, but I like to arm myself for battle before stepping out into the great outdoors.
W3LL People Realist Setting Powder can be used by itself to minimize pores and control shine, or to set foundation for ultra-long wear.
scorecard
ingredients: serecite, iron oxides, kaolin clay, organic aloe, chamomile**, organic green tea* (*USDA Organic, **QAI)
performance: you can use a wet sponge to apply this powder, but I’ve been using Jane Iredale’s The Handi brush to dust it over my T-Zone in the mornings. The translucent powder is easily deposited on the brush and actually works to minimize shine for much of the day (thanks to the inclusion of kaolin clay which lends excellent coverage and oil absorption properties to any product it’s looped in to. It’s also a mild clay thereby making it perfect for anyone who has rosacea or general dryness. People with sensitive, dry skin will also appreciate the softening and soothing benefits of the aloe, chamomile and green tea).
If I had to dig to find a ‘negative’ needle in the haystack it would be the slightly gritty feel of it on my face (as compared to the feeling of this powder), but I’m a nut when it comes to texture and touch of things on my face so I can’t really classify it as a downside as I’m pretty sure no one else would notice it.
