{review} terra tribe dry shampoo & paz and lourdes lip gloss

Terra Tribe Dry Shampoo and Paz Loudes Lip gloss

When I oversleep in the morning, and literally have just enough time to whip up my breakfast smoothie and mentally process what shortcut to take to get to work, two items in my arsenal of beauty products become like Marvel superheroes to me.

A dry shampoo to freshen up my hair, and a ‘pop of colour’ lip gloss to help me look awake.

Seriously, if you have a stunning lip colour on no one will notice if you missed your mascara or concealer.

Indie Beauty Shop, a Toronto online beauty boutique specializing in nontoxic skincare and cosmetics from independent Canadian brands, recently introduced me to two cute Toronto brands, Terra Tribe and Paz and Lourdes, that became my saviours one morning when I turned off my alarm instead of pressing snooze. (Ok I may have thrown it across the room.)

>>terra tribe dry shampoo – formulated for dark hair scorecard>>

ingredients: corn starch, kaolin clay, vanilla bean essential oil, grapefruit essential oil, green tea and olive leaf

application: I’m super lazy so I sprinkle a little bit into my roots and then massage it into my scalp with my fingers. I then flip over my hair and massage it in a bit more.

tip: if you’re not lazy like me then deposit a bit into your roots with a kubuki type brush and then work it through with a comb (or dinglehopper).

Or, if you’re super proactive, apply it the night before and you will for sure have no powder residue or oil the next morning. Just super fresh looking hair.

performance: dry shampoo is a great option for those of us who have oily scalps, or want to stretch the time between washings. Even if if you’re using a “clean ingredient” shampoo over-washing strips your hair of natural oils which results in your body producing more oil to counteract this.

I really liked the Terra Tribe shampoo for a few reasons: one, it didn’t have a gritty texture so it was easy to massage into the roots and it soaked up oil pretty well; two it was darker than regular dry shampoos so it worked better for my red hair (although I would like it to be a touch darker); and three it has an awesome energizing scent.

I’m ready to join the tribe.

colour: vibrant fuchsia

performance: I just love that this line of lip glosses channel the “roaring 20’s”. It’s such a fun point of differentiation.

They’re hydrating, not sticky, are scentless, and you can wear it alone or over top of another lipstick to create new colours.

Plus when you swipe one of these vibrant, sultry or warm colours on (click here for the full collection) you’ll feel like a lady boss.

Happy Friday blushers! Thanks for joining me this week and have an awesome weekend! xo

  • Gorgeous lip colour! Love the sound of the dry shampoo as well and at a great price!

  • I haven’t tried these products yet but they sound amazing! Love the youthful, vibrant fuschia hue and I have been interested in dry shampoos lately. Also, will take a look at Indie Beauty Shop.
