{review} living libations seakbuckthorn shampoo & shine on conditioner

living libations shampoo and conditioner

Disney gave me unrealistic expectations about hair…until Living Libations proved him right.

Last week, as I gushed about the latest things I was loving (click here for a refresher), I highlighted Living Libations’ Seabuckthorn Shampoo and Shine On Conditioner and equated it to the best hair porn, possibly ever. Bold statement? You betcha. What made me throw it out there? My hair still felt soft, clean and without any trace of oiliness at the roots four days after washing it. FOUR DAYS. I’m going to pause and let you soak that one in …..

……

Throw in bedhead volume and a severe reduction in frizz and I couldn’t wait to tell my sister about the discovery I had made.

Most often shampoos I love, and that work for my can’t-make-up-its-mind-if-its-straight-or-curly hair, fall short for my sister who has gorgeous Carrie Bradshaw hair. But this time, THIS TIME, it worked for both of us.

And then I knew, it was my responsibility as a girl to get the word out.

Living Libations, started by Nadine Artemis and her husband Ron, is a non-toxic line of body care products (made right here in Ontario!) that has for the most part been flying under the radar, but with some very loyal followers.

A true sense-visionary! Nadine has the greatest collection of rare and special oils… she has a wondrous knowledge and passion for it all. ~Alanis Morissette

But enough of the gushing, let me break these two beauties down for you.

rob lowe_parks and recreation

pros = volume, softness, cleanliness-for-days, zippo tangles, low on the frizz and it really did help to protect my ends from getting fried after using a bumper iron or hot rollers. That’s huge in my books. HUGE.
cons = that I was an idiot for not discovering these products sooner

for-the-win?

love actually perfect

and they are. they really, really are. Have I mentioned the softness and volume it gives? I’m seriously considering buying the club-pack version when it runs out.

where to buy: online or at The Big Carrot if you’re in Toronto

Have you tried either one of these products? If you’re not already a Living Libations convert you will be soon. Trust me.

This list of ingredients alone makes trying it a must and the fact that 4 days later your hair is still clean means less shampooing, so cost per use becomes way more affordable!.

I couldn’t believe it! Literally blew my mind.

  • Juliea Smith

I wish the cost to ship trial sizes to the USA wasn’t so insanely expensive. I would have loved to try them.

    • lifeinblush

I’m sure one day they’ll be popping up in the USA too 🙂

  • Elisabook

Love love love this post! I can’t stress it enough 🙂 you are so right about the Disney hair expectations. I’ve been lusting over living libations products for some time but I was waiting for some reviews. Plus if it’s Alanis Morissette approved – who btw is my absolute hair queen, I’m obsessed with her hair – then I know it’s worth trying 🙂 Thank you for this post! x Liz from smellslikeagreenspirit.blogspot.com
