raw cacao & chia breakfast smoothie

Raw Cacao Chia Breakfast Smoothie

Happy Wednesday blushers!

I tend to be a creature of habit when it comes to my breakfast (mainly because I oversleep and don’t want to think about what to eat before rushing to work) and when I hit on something yummy that keeps me full for a good chunk of the morning I tend to put it on repeat.

One day as I was tinkering around with my smoothie recipes I hit on a combo that I’m absolutely addicted to right now. It may taste like a chocolately dessert, but I promise you every single ingredient is so nutritious for your body that you’ll feel anything but guilt as  you knock this baby back (licking the glass is also allowed and encouraged).

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp raw, non-gmo & organic cacao
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1/2 tbsp cold-pressed extra-virgin coconut oil (or ghee)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Surthrival colostrum powder (optional)
  • unsweetened almond milk
  • pinch of Himalayan salt
  • cacao nibs and unsweetened coconut flakes for garnish

  • This looks SO delish! I’m not very good at making sweet smoothies, will give this a try!

    • Let me know how it turns out! I’m all about the sweetness in my morning smoothies 😀 xx

  • Yum! What a delicious recipe with a few of ny favorite foods: bananas, cacao, almond milk, and chia seeds.

    • Here’s another great recipe to try! Mash up a banana in a bowl and mix in 1/3 cup oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, cinnamon, wee bit of maple syrup and almond milk. Let it sit for a couple of hours, or overnight, and then in the morning top if off with your favourite fruit, chopped nuts, granola and/or cacao nibs 🙂

That sounds so good my sweets 😉 I am going to try this!

    • hi love! let me know what you think if you try it, it’s really become a new staple for me 🙂 Hope you’re having a great week! xo

What a super nutritious breakfast to quickly down before rushing out the door!! Such a great start to your day. By increasing the hemp seeds to 2 T you’d have 6 gms protein to go along with all the other perfect ingredients! YUM!
