hello autumn (smoothies)

pumpkin pie smoothie by life in blush

There inevitably comes a moment every year where, after weeks of giving Autumn a hard reject, my brain suddenly switches and it’s all I can do to not seek out or create recipes (both food and skincare) that use traditional Autumn ingredients like pumpkin.

That moment happened yesterday.

I was hungrily eyeing pumpkin based recipes as I surfed the net and knew it was time. Time to bust out my morning pumpkin smoothie.

Yah betch let’s do this!

I tweak this recipe each year based on the superfoods I’m fangirling over at the moment so here this year’s custom blended pumpkin pie smoothie recipe.

Makes a full blender

  •  4 cups of spring water
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • 1 can of pumpkin
  • 1/4 cup maca powder
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 4 tbsp raw honey
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp mesquite powder
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp ground ginger

Throw all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. This should give you enough for at least four servings and take note that this is not an overly sweet recipe. If you like things on the sweeter side up the honey or add maple syrup to taste.

  • Love! I’ll definitely have to try this smoothie recipe. Would it work well if I replace coconut milk with almond or soy?

    • Absolutely! Most pumpkin pie smoothie recipes call for almond milk, but my preference was coconut milk to make it creamier/thicker 🙂
