DIY sunday spa night

DIY purifying thyme and mint steam and coco chocolate salt scrub

Yesterday I found I had a bit of extra time on my hands and in those rare moments I usually like to test out new recipes to share with you. The two that I decided to pamper myself with came from my favourite beauty app, BeautyCraft (check it out here)

The facial steam was so relaxing and the body scrub not only smelled delicious (seriously, I felt like I was rubbing chocolate cake batter all over me), but it left me buttery smooth. If you’re looking for an easy way to de-stress and help your skin cope with the drying winter weather I definitely recommend you give these two a spin!

coco-chocolate salt scrub

  • 1 tbsp dried coconut (exfoliates)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder (cellulite-busting)
  • 2 tbsp full-fat milk (rejuvenates)
  • 3 tbsp sea salt (exfoliates)

steps: mix all ingredients together in a bowl; leftovers will keep well in the fridge for a week.

purifying thyme & mint steam

  • large handful of fresh thyme leaves (fights impurities on the skin)
  • large handful of fresh mint leaves (soothes, calms the skin & opens the pores)
  • 500ml of boiled water

steps: chop the thyme and mint leaves to release the essential oils; pour the boiling water over the herbs and allow the water to cool slightly for 2-3 minutes; place your face over the bowl and cover your head with a towel. Inhale deeply and relax!

  • The chocolate scrub sounds to tempting not to try! I think i’ll treat myself to this this weekend. xx
