{diy} coconut rose scrub

coconut rose body scrub /

Happy Wednesday everyone! Since yesterday’s post was all about protecting your skin from the sun I thought I would follow-up with a coconut rose body scrub that will get your skin beach-ready in no time. Not only will this decadent treatment slough away winter’s dry skin, but it’ll also leave it feeling silky soft and smelling incredible!

What you’ll need:  a clear jar with a lid, coconut oil, raw sugar, fragrant rose petals, jojoba oil

Measurement guide: the amount depends on the size of your jar, but each layer (coconut oil. rose petals, sugar) should take up 1/3 of the jar

Step 1: drop a large spoonful of coconut oil into the bottom of your jar. For this recipe the oil should be at room temperature, which is indicated by its buttery-like texture

Step 2: place your rose petals on top of the coconut oil

Step 3: add your raw sugar (brown or any coarse sugar will also work)

Step 4: drizzle your jojoba oil on top of the sugar and let it seep down to your rose petals. Then top it off with a bit more oil.

Step 5 (optional): I decided to add an extra layer of roses just because I love the smell of roses so much!

Step 6: secure the lid onto the jar and let it sit so the oils can soak into the petals

When you’re ready to use the scrub just take a spoon and mash it all up. The sugar will break up the petals and will continue to do so as you rub it onto your skin.

Apart from getting your ready for summer weather, this scrub is also the perfect end to a hard day or any time you just want to pamper yourself!
